GOAL WAS FOR MUM

The São Paulo midfielder Denilson has said that he owes the goal he scored during the weekend for São Paulo to his mother. The 24-year-old Brazilian international recently scored his first goal for the club in the most spectacular fashion.

The 40 yard strike from outside the box was enough to get São Paulo the victory against Palmeiras during the weekend. Speaking after the match, the Arsenal midfielder said that he is extremely happy to have scored his first goal for the club. They had been waiting for this for a long time. He has also paid tribute to his mother, who was responsible for this goal.

The mother of the midfielder died back in 1998, but it was a dream to see Denilson play for São Paulo and score for the club. Even though she is not around to see the midfielder score for the team he supported as a boy, Denilson is extremely happy to have finally realised her dream. The 24-year-old is currently on loan at the Brazilian club from the Premier league club Arsenal. He was widely expected to return to England in the summer, but has selected to extend his loan spell by another season.

“She and God helped me a lot, especially with that shot. Not accidentally, knowing that I was going to score. But in the way of where the ball went, it was something that I think my mother put her hand on the ball and did well. We will have to see. I don’t even know if I should say this, but I like to play in Sao Paulo. It’s a different feeling, as I have a special affection for this club. When I put on the shirt, I’m a different Denilson,” said the midfielder expressed his interest to stay permanently.

NO ARSENAL RETURN

Arsenal midfielder Denilson will not be returning to Arsenal this season at least after it was revealed that he has now extended his loan deal with the Brazilian club São Paulo for another season. The 24-year-old midfielder spent the last season on loan at the Brazilian club after failing to secure first team football at Arsenal.

He has openly admitted that he would like to stay with São Paulo for another season if possible. Due to the fact that Arsenal are looking at various other alternatives to replace Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, they have decided to allow Denilson spend another season on loan at the Brazilian club.

In the previous season, São Paulo did not pay a majority of the weekly wages of the Arsenal star. However, under the terms of the new loan deal, they will be paying a majority of the wages. This would make Denilson one of the high-paid players in Brazil because of the fact that he is thought to be on a contract worth around £ 40,000 per week. It remains to be seen if Denilson will still be interested in returning to Arsenal after the end of this current loan spell.

“I don’t know what happened. I just expressed an interest in staying at Sao Paulo for at least another year. The chiefs on Arsenal’s board helped. I didn’t talk to Arsene Wenger. My lawyer and I met Sao Paulo’s board and we agreed it would be better if I stayed at the club, and they reached an agreement with Arsenal,” said Denilson after sealing his new loan deal with São Paulo. The Brazilian midfielder has often been criticised by the Arsenal fans by not being up to the mark required to play for a club like Arsenal. Despite this, he made numerous appearances for the club since joining them in 2006.

DENILSON MIGHT RETURN

Arsenal’s Brazilian midfielder Denilson is all set to return to the club after it was revealed that the Brazilian club Santos were unable to agree a fee with Arsenal for the 24-year-old midfielder.

The Brazilian midfielder left the Emirates stadium in the summer after being frustrated about the lack of first-team opportunities at the club. Despite being extremely young, the midfielder has already made more than 150 appearances for the first team. However, he has been recently replaced by the likes of Song and Jack Wilshere, which led to his departure from the club on a temporary basis.

In a recent interview, he suggested that he would be willing to sign for the Brazilian club Santos on a permanent deal if both clubs were able to come to an agreement. It was reported that Arsenal were demanding £ 6 million for the player, which has proven to be a major stumbling block.

As a result, both parties have been unable to come to terms, which will see Denilson return to the Emirates stadium in the summer. It remains to be seen if he will continue at the club after his arrival. Denilson came to Arsenal back in 2006 and has made more than 150 appearances for the club during this period.

“Denilson won’t stay. Arsenal want €6million (£4.9million) for him, but we won’t pay that so we expect him to leave soon. Of course we will try to get the loan deal extended for another year, but it won’t be easy,” said the club president Juvencio to UOL. During his loan spell with the Brazilian club, Denilson made more than 30 appearances. The club president also admitted that it would also be tough to bring the midfielder back on a loan spell, as Arsenal only want a permanent deal.

DENILSON UNSURE

Arsenal midfielder Denilson has said that he will make a decision on his future after returning to Arsenal in July. Denilson moved to Brazilian club Santos on a season-long loan deal after failing to establish himself in the first team of Arsenal.

There were many criticisms regarding his style of play, which led that Arsene Wenger into believing that the player might benefit from a regular spell of first-team football in his homeland. Arsene Wenger has thought that such a move would help his confidence, which in turn, would make him the player Arsenal thought they were signing many years ago.

Denilson started just six Premier league matches back in the 2010-11 season. After having grown extremely frustrated about the lack of first-team opportunities, Denilson went to Brazilian club Santos on a season long loan deal, which will expire shortly.

Yet, there has been rumours that the club are looking at the possibility of making his signing permanent in the summer. Denilson has confirmed that such rumours were true, but the club was not able to reach an agreement with Arsenal regarding the transfer fee. As a result, Denilson will be returning back to Arsenal in the summer.

“I will stay at Sao Paulo until June 30. Then I will return to Arsenal. This season, I had more assists, I secured a place in the starting team and I had good matches. I also had a good run of matches and I have not been sent off. I would like to stay six more months, but this decision was made by Arsenal, with whom I have a contract. I will not be unhappy in London, because I am returning to one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Denilson said in a recently revealed statement regarding his future.

NO PLANS OF ARSENAL RETURN

Denilson is not going to return to Arsenal after the loan of Sao Paulo gets over. He was not so popular in the team. He was an under achieving mid fielder in the Arsenal team. Arsenal fans are not at all worried about the fact that this particular footballer is not returning to the club.

The Arsenal manager explains that this player could not prove himself on the field. He was not at all impressive on the field. Performance of a particular player matters a lot for the club which he is representing. Moreover, he could not even pull the fans towards. So, it does not really matters for the Arsenal fans that he remains in the club or not.

It is said that this 23 year old mid fielder will continue his football career in Sao Paulo. Denilson said that he is happy to return to his former club. He also said that he enjoys playing for Sao Paulo since he can show his performance as a regular player and does not has to wait on the reserve benches. He does not even care about the fact that he has not got any fan following in Arsenal. He also adds that Arsenal manager did not gave him proper chances to prove his ability on the field.

Denilson looks much confident these days. But the red card issues are troubling him a lot. Even he is answerable to the fans of the club. He says that card issues are part of the football game and every player has to face such problems in their respective football careers. He wants to enjoy playing for Sao Paulo. He is quite comfortable in this club and also happy with the club officials. The upcoming matches can only show whether this man can prove himself or not.
