WENGER'S FAITH ABOUT TO BE REPAID
Arsenal midfielder Denilson believes that Arsene Wenger's faith in youth is starting to be repaid. Denilson, 22, was a late substitute as the Gunners ran rampant against the Portuguese visitors. Goals from more experienced duo Andrey Arshavin and Marouane Chamakh were partnered by braces from sprightly stars Cesc Fabregas and Carlos Vela, as the team's youth products rose to prominence.
Speaking after the game to the club's official website, the Brazilian believed the youngsters were now ready to deliver on their promise after five trophyless years. "Tonight was a very nice night for Arsenal and I am proud of the team," Denilson said.
"Arsene Wenger believes in us and if we keep playing together we have a chance to win something because we need a trophy this season. The manager's faith is paying off. For a long time we did not win a trophy and it is normal then that people say that Arsene Wenger has to buy experienced players."
